Since opening their doors in 1994, the pair has used their perfectly-matched compatibility to bring creative, original stories to the screen using up-and-coming writing, directing and acting talents. Starting with the comedy spoof PLUMP FICTION (distributed by Rhino Entertainment), Roberts and David moved on through a series of Latino pictures - EASTSIDE and OUTTA TIME - while revisiting the comedy genre that brought them together with POOR WHITE TRASH (Comedy Central) and the award-winning short LA FEMME BALLON.

Roberts/David Films most recent comedy, STRANGERS WITH CANDY, starred creators Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello and Stephen Colbert. Sarah Jessica Parker, Mathew Broderick, Philip Seymore Hoffman and Ian Holm rounded out the cast. Mark Roberts and Lorena David produced the film along with David Letterman's Worldwide Pants. Joseph Middleton (American Pie 1 & 2, Legally Blonde, Old School) cast the film, which filmed on location in New York and New Jersey in Summer 2004. The film was accepted to the Sundance Film Festival in 2005 and sold to THINK FILM. Another recent picture EXTREME DATING, directed by Lorena David and produced by Mark Roberts was released by Warner Home Video just in time for Valentine’s 2006.

Having become a one-stop shop for indies, Roberts/David Films also came on board to Executive Produce the horror film DARK RIDE which was released in 2006 by Lion’s Gate. The film stars Jamie-Lynn Sigler and was shot almost entirely on the Universal lot utilizing the Roberts/David indie deal with both the studio and the unions. Directly following DARK RIDE Roberts and David produced DANIKA. Based on an original screenplay by Joshua Leibner, DANIKA is a psychological horror about a mother whose tremendous fears for her children manifest themselves in premonitions of death and disaster. It starred Marisa Tomei,Craig Beirko and Regina Hall.

The next two projects up for these fruitful producers are THE THACKER CASE, written by Robert Dean Klein, and PIONEER TOWN, written by Stephen Colbert and Paul Dinello (Strangers with Candy).
