FILMSTAR SET TO BEGIN PRODUCTION ON “Extreme Dating"

Los Angeles, CA, January 29, 2002: Devon Sawa (Final Destination and the upcoming Slackers), Amanda Detmer (The Majestic), Jamie-Lynn Sigler (HBO’s The Soprano’s), and Andrew Keegan (10 Things I Hate About You) have signed on to star in the comedy Extreme Dating, from Filmstar Productions, to begin shooting on February 4th.

The young, ensemble cast was assembled by the highly successful casting director, Joseph Middleton (American Pie 1 & 2, Legally Blonde, and Bring it On). “Joseph is the best in the business. If you’ve seen any of his films, you know he puts his heart and soul into creating casting chemistry. We are thrilled to be working with him,” says Producer Mark Roberts.

Lorena David (Eastside, Outta Time) is set to direct eXtreme dating. It focuses on twenty-something friends who decide the only way to win over one’s true love is to bond through extreme circumstances. Devon Sawa plays Daniel and Andrew Keegan is Troy…two friends who set up a false kidnapping extreme date so that Troy can get his girl. When their hired “kidnappers” deviate from the plan, the extreme date quickly escalates out of control. Amanda Detmer plays Lindsay, a young advertising executive looking for true love, who, along with her friends, gets caught up in this extreme dating disaster. Jamie-Lynn Sigler is Amy, the object of Troy’s affection and the unwitting victim of this “date” gone terribly wrong.

Extreme Dating is produced by Mark Roberts and executive produced by Filmstar Productions’ Larry Crowder and John Powell . The film is penned by Jeff Schectman. Filmstar recently released the film Poor White Trash starring Sean Young, Jamie Pressley and Jason London. Their latest release is Outta Time starring Mario Lopez, Ali Landry and John Saxon set for release by ARTISAN at the end of March 2002.
