STRANGERS WITH CANDY – Based on the cult comedy series, “Strangers With Candy”, Amy Sedaris stars as Jerri Blank, a 47-year old former "user, boozer and loser" who returns to high school after three decades of hard living. The film also includes co-creators Paul Dinello as Mr. Jellineck, a narcissistic yet fragile art teacher, and Stephen Colbert as Mr. Noblet, a strict history teacher with a predilection for Hummel figurines.
The Comedy Central series’ original stars and creators Amy Sedaris, Paul Dinello and Stephen Colbert wrote and star in the feature film. Mark Roberts and Lorena David (EXTREME DATING, OUTTA TIME) produced the film along with David Letterman's Worldwide Pants. Joseph Middleton (American Pie 1 & 2, Legally Blonde, Old School) cast the film, which was filmed on location in New Jersey.
Incredibly Mark and Lorena talked the Strangers into letting them produce this movie, talked Comedy Central into selling them the rights and talked David Letterman’s team into financing the film! Sundance wanted it for their Midnight Screening and the rest is history, or at least history the way Mr. Noblet would teach it.
